Reed bunting (Emberiza schoeniclus)

Here’s a little garden visitor we’ve had recently, I don’t know why but I never really associated Reed buntings with gardens, but there you go.  This is a male but we also have females paying a visit.

British Wildlife Centre

Yesterday we made an effort to leave the house & took a visit to the British Wildlife Centre near Lingfield in Surrey.  I’m not one for posting captive animals normally but this place is great.  Talks are held throughout the day on the some of the different animals they have, red squirrels, otters, foxes and badgers.  Other animals include mustelids and birds of prey.

So first off we have one of the otters enjoying a swim.  Don’t look at the picture after this unless you like gore!!

And here’s one of my favourites, I love foxes and this one was enjoying some exploding chicken.  My usual spot for foxes has been empty this year so looks like i’ve missed out on any chances of pictures of cubs, so this will have to do 🙂 EWB_BWC_1
